bio
Michel St- Martin’s cinematographic work includes feature films, TV series, miniseries and TV movies. With a degree in Photography, he began his film career over 2 decades ago. For several years, he worked on large productions as a lighting technician where he collaborated alongside the most renowned DOPs in the world, such as Matthew Libatique, Roger Pratt, and Phil Meheu.
Inspired, Michel started his career as a cinematographer and rapidly accumulated many music videos and commercials.
It wasn’t long before he was offered film projects. He lensed features including the recent Blood Quantum, a native zombie movie that garnered attention at TIFF, Karakara, Rhymes for Young Ghouls, Scratch and soon to be released Les Vieux Chums. His style and camera work is known to be naturalistic but most importantly anchored to the story being told. His talent was recognized as Variety wrote: “Blood Quantum looks fine in Michel St-Martin’s alternately handsome and muscular widescreen photography”.
He has also recently shot for CBS 4 episodes of the second season of Blood and Treasure. Other shows include Exploding Sun (Syfy), This Life (CBC), Bad Blood (Netflix) and Cerebrum (SRC).
Experienced working abroad and fully bilingual (English and French), Michel has worked on sets in Japan, Morocco, Cuba, and Canada.
